The Granite Belt is a landscape shaped by stone, altitude and frosty weather. The Shape of Stone brings together selected works from years spent exploring its granite tors, following changing light through open forest and the high country.

On the Granite Belt

I keep coming back to the Granite Belt because nowhere else feels quite like it. I love the enormous granite formations against the open forest, and how quickly the landscape changes with light, weather and season.

There is always something to see, hear and smell. It is a place that offers a full sensory overload - that is addictive! There is always something new to see that I haven't noticed on previous visits.

The Shape of Stone is a collection built from those encounters and many trips back.
